About the study

The aim of the study is to assess how trade policy reform can unlock trade investment opportunities by exploiting Mozambique’s comparative advantages, drawing on identifying key areas rich in natural resources.

Using the ITC Trade Potential model, the study has identified goods and services with trade potential, which include potential for exports within the region in agricultural production, fishing, energy, industry, services and investment in regional connectivity on rail and road infrastructures.

It is recommended that trade policy reforms are implemented to unlock trade opportunities in Mozambique, as they facilitate trade and improve the business environment, create regulatory transparency and investment in transport infrastructures, thereby creating an environment unlocking opportunities in regional and global markets.
