Workshop on agriculture dataset
On 24 February, the National Directorate of Economic Policies and Development (DNPED) of the Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD), in partnership with the Centre for Economic and Management Studies (CEEG) of the Faculty of Economics, University of Eduardo Mondlane (UEM), organizes a workshop on a dataset on the agriculture sector in Mozambique produced under the Inclusive growth in Mozambique (IGM) programme.
The agriculture dataset is the result of compiling data from the agricultural surveys conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADER) – the Integrated Agricultural Surveys (IAIs) and Agricultural Survey Works (TIAs) – between 2002 and 2020.
The objective of the workshop is to familiarize participants with the dataset, identify specific topics for further analysis, and teach participants how to utilize the information available in the database to make more informed decisions regarding the agriculture sector.
The workshop is targeted at technical staff from relevant ministries, academics, researchers, and students. It is given by Sam Jones, UNU-WIDER Research Fellow and Resident Advisor at the Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD), and Sofiare Jamú, Research Assistant under the IGM programme.
