Basic STATA training

The Inclusive growth in Mozambique (IGM) programme organizes a five-day basic course on STATA during 28 March and 1 April 2022.

STATA is a statistical analysis software used to analyse data patterns. The course aims to introduce participants to the main functions of the programme for analysing economic and population data. By the end of the course, participants will know how to import data from Excel into STATA and save it, how to use do-files to programme basic analysis, how to produce basic statistics (average, proportion), and how to produce simple tables and graphs from those statistics. In addition, participants will familiarize themselves with relevant databases available in Mozambique, such as the Household Budget Survey (IOF), or Macro Indicators of the Bank of Mozambique.

The training is co-ordinated by the Directorate of Economic and Development Policies (DNPED) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and given by Eva-Maria Egger, UNU-WIDER Research Fellow and Resident Advisor at MEF. The target audience is research staff and students at UEM and ministry technicians.
