Workshop

Workshop - Analysing Poverty

The Analysing Poverty workshop was held in Maputo, 6-10 July 2015.

The workshop held in Maputo on 6-10 July 2015 hosted a group of post-graduates, government officials, and representatives of international organizations for an advanced course in analytical theory and methodology. The UNU-WIDER team took the diverse group of participants through the theory of multi-dimensional of poverty, stressing the range of issues, from security poverty to poverty of opportunity, building to a practical lab-based focus on direct analysis, and statistical parsing.

One particularly important aspect of the workshop was bringing together perspectives and experience across the often rigid lines of northern and southern academia, development work, government offices, and international organizations.
