Short course on economic analysis using STATA and Excel

The Inclusive growth in Mozambique (IGM) programme organizes a five-day course on economic analysis using STATA and Excel between 29 June and 5 July 2023.

The course is designed for staff at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and members of the Faculty of Economics of the University Eduardo Mondlane (UEM). It aims to strengthen the participants’ theoretical and practical skills in statistical data analysis. During the course, the participants will be familiarized with various databases from Mozambique and from other developing countries and introduced to various commands in STATA and Excel that allow them to manipulate data, and extract, format, and export results. The main objective is to provide tools to working more efficiently with STATA and Excel, and encourage working with data from the country.

The training is coordinated by the National Directorate of Economic and Development Policies (DNPED) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Mozambique (MEF) and given by Vincenzo Salvucci, Assistant Professor and Non-Resident Advisor at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH-DERG), with the support of Giulia Barletta, UCPH-DERG Resident Advisor at DNPED-MEF.
