Academic Conference – Transformation Towards Better Jobs

On 21 November 2019, the Inclusive Growth in Mozambique (IGM) programme will hold its fourth annual conference in Maputo. Hosted by the Centre for Economic and Management Studies of Eduardo Mondlane University and organized under the slogan ‘Transformation Towards Better Jobs’, the 2019 conference will focus on themes related to the Mozambican labour market. It will also showcase recent research done under a variety of related topics, ranging from education and health to institutions and their role in the economy and labour market. The central goal of this event is to inform new policies and promote inclusive growth in Mozambique.

The IGM Annual Conference gathers international and national academics, goverment representatives, policy advisors and development practitioners to share and discuss recent research outputs of the IGM programme. The conference is primarily academic, but will also include a policy panel with actors from the area of employment promotion and entrepreneurship.

Participants are also welcome to take part in the related Public Forum: Launch of the Final Report on the Survey of School-to-Work Transition of University Graduates – ‘What Happens After Graduation? Evidence from Mozambique’ on 22 November 2019.

Both events will take place at Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence in Maputo.
