IGM researchers Sam Jones and Finn Tarp discuss effective development cooperation at GPEDC webinar

The Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC) will host, on 17 June, an informal online discussion on the potential of the principles of effectiveness in delivering better development cooperation impact. The event, titled ‘Does 'effective' development co-operation really deliver development? What can research tell us?’ and organized as part of the GPEDC webinar series, aims to explore the strengths and weaknesses of different programme aid modalities and to engage the research community and policy makers in mobilizing evidence for increased development cooperation effectiveness.

Two researchers of the Inclusive growth in Mozambique (IGM) programme, Sam Jones, UNU-WIDER Research Fellow, and Finn Tarp, Professor of Development Economics at the University of Copenhagen, will join the discussion by sharing evidence and experiences from Mozambique.

Other specialist in the Mozambican context include two co-authors of the Mozambique Institutional Diagnostics (MID) study, produced as part of an international research initiative in collaboration with the IGM programme, namely, Johnny Flentø, Senior Advisor from the University of Copenhagen and co-author of the ‘Donor relations and sovereignty’ paper and José Jaime Macuane, Associate Professor of University of Eduardo Mondlane and co-author of the ‘Natural resources, institutions, and economic transformation in Mozambique’ paper.
